MARMA CHIKITSA: AYURVEDIC ACUPRESSURE-ENERGY TREATMENT
MARMA CHIKITSA: AYURVEDIC ACUPRESSURE-ENERGY TREATMENT
A marma point is a portal of prana or vital life-force. They are junctures on the body where two or more types of tissue meet and act as the access points of the subtle energy body. When imbalances block the movement of free-flowing energy in the body, the result is stagnation. This can lead to physical and mental discomfort and dis-ease.
This science is based on the manipulation of these points to access shifts in body, mind, and consciousness. A light or medium pressure is applied to the points using the fingers, a therapy wand or a tuning fork.
Marma therapy is useful in : pain, stress, tension, energetic or emotional issues, balancing digestion, clearing toxicity, and calming the mind.

NETRA TARPANA: EYE NOURISHMENT
Netra (eye) Tarpana (nourishment) is an Ayurvedic therapy used for issues of the eye. The eye is an organ, and acts as a gateway to the mind and nervous system, so this treatment not only nourishes the eye itself, but is also beneficial for the nervous system and mind. Localized marma is done and then the eye is nourished with warm ghee during this calming therapy.
